Visit to Room 68 in Boston
April 25th, 2012

On a recent trip to Boston I called into Room 68 in Jamaica Plain. This lovely new concept store has a mix of furniture, functional objects and contemporary art from well known and emerging artists and designers. It’s well worth a visit if you’re ever on the other side of the pond.

This fabulous table lamp by Nervous System was the first thing that caught my eye in Room 68. The Hyphae Lamp is based on how veins form in leaves. Each lamp is a completely one-of-a-kind design 3D-printed in nylon plastic. They also make some amazing jewellery available in store- I want it all!

Look how slick this stool is!! It would appear I’m obsessed with this white nylon material but it’s more the smooth functioning of this product that grabbed my attention. The only thing is that it’s around the $2,000 mark!

These beautiful acrylic structures combined with rubber cord create floating containers of space. Strung is designed by Debra Folz.

I wanted to take photos of pretty much everything in the shop so here’s a group shot of some of the other products!

The leatheresque floor lamp by Oliveto Design, the Hexy Wall Modular Storage Unit by Mika Gilmore, Lilac Wood Vase by Seth Rolland and the Plopp Stools by Zieta.

I’ll come back to actually shop when I’m rich!
